  • AJS members should log-in to access the member registration. If you are bringing guests, please ensure you provide their contact details.
  • JET Alumni, Wasabi Club (USyd), UNSW Japanese alumni
  • People not members of AJS, JETAA, NSA, Wasabi Club etc
  • You must email a photo of your student ID to info@ajsnsw.org.au prior to 15 July 2024 to verify your student status.

Japanese Speaking Night

"Shaberanaito" (Japanese speaking night) is back again! Join AJS NSW and JETAA NSW members and friends to speak Japanese while eating delicious Japanese food!

Thanks to the success from our previous Shaberanaito events, we will continue the tradition to hold this event again at Izakaya Masuya (Ground Floor, 12-14 O’Connell St, Sydney 2000). This time with another new menu! We will also have the entire restaurant to ourselves (貸し切り). 

Date: Friday 19 July 2024

Time: 6:30pm Start (Doors open from 6:00pm)

Location:  Izakaya Masuya (Ground Floor, 12-14 O’Connell St, Sydney 2000)

Cost*$55pp (AJS NSW, JETAA Members & Guests, and Students!), $60pp (non-members) - you will be very well fed -> see course menu below

Registration Closes: Monday 15 July 2024 or until spots are filled (max 40 people so sign up quick!)

The registration includes a set menu and a free drink. The restaurant has flagged an increase in costs, so we appreciate your understanding in accommodating the rising costs.

Cancellation Policy*: Registration will not be refundable past the registation closing date - 15 July 2024. Please understand as we need to finalise our numbers with the restaurant. If you can no longer attend, it would be best to find another person to replace your spot and notify us. Please read our Event Payment Terms and Cancellations and Refunds policy at the very bottom of this page.

  3. Oyako mini don & Chirashi mini don
  4. Wagyu Beef Hamburger Steak in Tomato Stew with Broccoli
  5. Tempura soba (free refill)
  6. Dessert: Rice cake with Azuki Beans & Green Tea

We will host a quiz with prizes that includes Toraya Yokan (dessert) and Special made Natto & Dashimaki Eggs with Cod Roe.

*Event payment terms

(a) Payment in advance is a condition of attending the charged events, and is required to be made no later the close of registration(15 July 2024). 
(b) Registration will be deemed incomplete until full payment has been made.
(c) Should payment not be received in full by the Payment Deadline, registration will be cancelled automatically. 
(d) Persons who have registered and paid in full will be given priority over those who have not paid, in the event that an event’s capacity has been reached.
(e) Under no circumstances will registrations and/or payments be accepted at the door of the event.

Cancellations and refunds

(a) Event registration fees are non-refundable except where refunds are required by applicable laws.
(b) If you cancel your event registration via our website prior to thpayment deadline (15 July 2024) , you will be offered a credit of equal value in our system, which can be used for a future event or a membership payment.
(c) If you cancel after the registration deadline or are a “no show”, no refund or credit will be provided.
(d) If you cannot attend an event at short notice, after you have paid and registration has closed, you may send an alternate person in your place provided prior notice is given to AJS-NSW. That person does not need to be an AJS-NSW member but we will request them to immediately pay the difference between the member and the non-member fee, if applicable.
