NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Annual General Meeting of Members of the Australia Japan Society of NSW Incorporated will be held in-person on Wednesday 30 November 2022 at 6.00pm at the offices of The Japan Foundation, Level 4, Central Park, Broadway, Chippendale, Sydney.
The meeting will be followed by a short talk by member Hiroki Iijima, on his new book about what Japan can learn from Australia (details below) and networking over drinks. To assist with catering, please register your attendance.

At the meeting members will be asked to approve a Special Resolution to update the Rules of the Society. Please click here for the proposed amendments.
At the AGM, the President’s Report for the year ended 30 June 2022 will be distributed.
Please note that to attend the AGM or to stand for a board position you must be a current financial member of the Society.
Speaker information
We are pleased to welcome member Hiroki Iijima to make some remarks based on his latest book, published in Japanese, entitled What Japan can Learn from Australia - Australia, a Nation on the Rise vs a Declining Tired Japan (躍進する未来国家豪州 停滞する勤勉国家日本 -2032年の世界の中心 オーストラリアに学べ)
In advance of the official Australian launch of the book, Iijima-san will talk (in English) about what Japan can learn from an Australia advancing towards the 2032 Olympics. The book has already reached no. 9 on the journalism best seller list on Amazon Japan.
Iijima-san wears multiple hats including Sydney Correspondent for Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), Promotion Ambassador for both Yamanashi and Okinawa Prefectures, Board member of the Foreign Correspondents’ Association - Australia & South Pacific, and singer-songwriter with Goshu Kariyushi Kai, an Okinawan band.
