Asia Region Funds Passport

The Asia Region Funds Passport (ARFP) is a new initiative aimed at reducing the barriers to cross-border financial transactions in the Asian region. In particular it will facilitate the cross-border marketing of managed funds in participating economies.

It was formalized on 11 September 2015, when Finance Ministers from Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines and Thailand signed a Statement of Understanding at the APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting.

Australia has been active as a promoter of the Passport since 2010.

The Passport is anticipated to commence in late 2016.

Sally Loane, CEO of the Financial Services Council (FSC), will speak to us about the Passport. The FSC is the peak  industry body for the wealth management industry, with members including companies in funds management, superannuation, life insurance, financial advice businesses and trustee services, as well as companies providing services to the industry.

Speaker Bio

Sally Loane joined the FSC as Chief Executive Officer in December 2014.

Prior to this she had an extensive career in the corporate sector, working at Coca-Cola Amatil from 2006-2014 as the Director of Media and Public Affairs, and in the media industry, where she worked as a journalist for Australia's major print, radio and television media organisations and as a broadcaster for ABC radio in Sydney.

She is currently a director of Waratahs Rugby, and co-deputy chair of the Committee for Sydney, in addition to other Board roles.
