Australia-Japan Society of NSW

"JAPAN: THE AWAKENING" - JETRO Sydney Business Promotion Symposium, 7th November 2013 -- an AJS-NSW supported event

  • 07 Nov 2013
  • 2:30 PM
  • Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, Henry Lawson Room

The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) cordially invite you to attend this Japan Business Promotion Symposium.

After nearly twenty dormant years since the economic bubble of the 1980s/90s, the Japanese government has firmed up its platform and policies with the Abenomics program implemented since last December. Through greater deregulation and reform, more attractive prospects for foreign business within the country are emerging. The Japanese government has already begun taking action by laying the framework for this economic revitalisation.

The first part of this event will hold guest presentations from key figures in Japanese economic policy-making, as well as Japanese industry present in Australia.
The second part will consist of an investment Success Case presentation and a Panel Discussion on Australia-Japan business, "Tips for Success in Japan"
This will be followed by Networking Drinks in the late afternoon.

If you are interested in developing business ideas for the Japanese market, of capitalising on new opportunities with the new policies behind  Abenomics, this event will provide you with valuable presentations, discussions and networking opportunities. Please join in exploring new business opportunities that are arising from this economic turning point, and what it means for Australian companies.

Guest presentations and Panelists include:
  • Mr Tadayuki Nagashima, Executive Vice President of JETRO
  • Mr Kiyoshi Mori, Deputy Director General of the Bureau of Trade and Economic Co-operation, METI
